Position Objective
The role will support the Environment Team by assisting with data collection and project administration tasks, including desktop irrigation audits, information collation, Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up data management, and on-ground auditing. The position is required to work within a culture of collaboration, commitment, and accountability.
Position Context
Reporting directly to the Manager Sustainability, this role provides critical support for the delivery of environmental and sustainability initiatives. The position is responsible for data management and project administration to ensure effective planning, implementation, and reporting.
This role plays an important part in contributing to the delivery of services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collating, managing, and analysing data to inform operational decisions and reporting requirements.
- Providing project administration support including documentation preparation, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliant records management, across a range of initiatives, including the Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up, irrigation infrastructure upgrades, carry out utility’s audits, and other sustainability-focused programs.
- Conduct site inspections of Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up zones across the Municipality to verify contractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
- Perform desktop audits and collate data to support the planning and delivery of irrigation and controller upgrade program
- Maintain and update spatial data in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ensuring accuracy and consistency across mapped infrastructure.
- Deliver responsive and professional customer service, consistent with Customer Service Charter and commitment to community engagement.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment in line with relevant Work Health and Safety legislation.
Requirements
- Experience or knowledge in data management including the ability to analysis data to provide information and reports.
- Proficiency and skills in the use of mobile devices, computers and software with knowledge or experience with GIS preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision and ability to meet deadlines.
- A demonstrated understanding of appropriate and professional conduct with Local Government and ability to act responsibly when interacting with members of our community.
- Experienced in contributing as a proactive and reliable team member, with a consistent track record of delivering high-quality outcomes under limited supervision.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS and experience in safe work practices.
- Undertake any other duties within the skill and scope of the position, as directed.
